- NEVER pass someone in unsafe weather conditions, on a hill, at a curve, in an intersection, or when your line of sight is restricted.
- Avoid switching lanes last minute, there should be two car lengths between you and the vehicle you will be switching lanes to pass.
- Refrain from engaging in distracting activity while on the highway.
- Avoid passing someone if a vehicle ahead has indicated that they are changing lanes or are at or near the speed limit.
- NEVER remain in the passing lane after you’ve successfully passed the vehicle. Driving in the fast lane for an excessive period of time is more than likely going to get you a ticket.
